Fall projects

I have been quite busy this month with Fall projects-- in Oregon you gotta' be ready when the rains come. And this year, with me going in for knee surgery October 7th, I won't be able to patch a leaking roof or do much of anything for a month or so.

This photo is of my friend Jesse who helped me fix a leak in the hot tub. We had to use a "farm jack" to hoist the hot tub up two feet in the air and onto some stumps and timbers for support. Then I had to fill it with water and crawl under it to trace down the leak. The tub is about 500 pounds and water weighs 8 pounds per gallon, so it was a bit of a project.

Anyway, the homestead is in good shape and I'm off to Riverbend hospital for my new knee, which I call my Titanium Terminator knee-- the darn thing looks just like the skeletal structure from the Terminator movie.
