Wow, what a trip and we are finally home to a jungle of a yard and everything is in bloom! Flew out of Eugene April 18th and to Florida to spend six days with my uncle in Micanopy. Enjoyed going to Gainsville, and St. Augustine. Very warm and tons of palm trees and live oaks and palmettos. My uncle, a gourmet cook fixed us fabulous meals and did I mention the beefsteak tomatoes? We never get them that big in Oregon let alone in Illinois in April! Seafood was great in Florida and nice to be out of our dreary rain and dark rainforest. We then drove and stayed in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky while tracking family history, eating southern food and touring those plantations and mansions. This was a very good trip. Home to Illinois to visit with family for 10 days and then home back to the rainforest..
