Winter Snow and Ice Storm Part 2
It is now February and we just got hit with a four day Winter storm that left many in the county without power. Many trees, and heavy branches have snapped, broken and landed in yards, on top of cars and into houses breaking windows and causing delays in traffic and just being able to leave the house. Events have been cancelled and our EWEB pole dancers are working non stop. Sue and family are ok with power and she even drove herself into work all weekend. What a woman. Grandaughter without power all weekend but hopefully that is resolved by now. A good friend without power in the country and came into town to stay with her family till this is resolved.
Last weekend was the Superbowl and this weekend was the Superstorm. Teaches me that the simple act of being warm in twenty degree temperatures, having power to cook a meal, take a shower, make some coffee and do some laundry are all modern miracles that we should and are extremely greatful to have.

Christmas 2013
Had seven family members for Christmas eve Ham dinner. Tried baked brie with marionberry sauce and mini croissants for a change as well as Waldorf salad. Had the jellied cranberries and deviled egg potato salad and cole slaw with fresh pineapple for the ham. Had a frozen white mousse yogurt cake with chocolate frosting and a big red rose to make it look more festive. Olives, two kinds of pickles and regular rolls as well as baked yams. We watched several movies afterwards and then opened gifts. They all left just before Midnite. Happy to have had them and a good time was had by all. God bless us everyone.

58 degree day and a drive to Corvallis
We decided to take a break from the four holiday parties we went to this past week and just have a non commercial day before getting the feast together. Drove to Findley where we found out the numbers are way down on the Canadian geese this year due to dry Autumn. They said the elk were in abundance. We did see both the duskies and the cacklers before we left. Nice sunny drive.
